Apple said that an intruder tried to get into its Developer Center via its developer website in an attempt to obtain personal information.
The firm said in an update that the incident took place last Thursday, according to the 9to5mac website.
It said that “sensitive personal information” that was encrypted was not breached by the intruder. Apple, however, said that it could not “rule out the possibility that some developers’ names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed.”
Apple said that it would overhaul its developer systems, update its server software, and would rebuild its entire database.
“We apologize for the significant inconvenience that our downtime has caused you and we expect to have the developer website up again soon,” the statement reads.
The Developer Center experienced an outage that lasted for the day on Thursday.
“This site is undergoing maintenance for an extended period today,” the Apple splash page read at the time. “Thanks for your patience.”
