NEW YORK—A free application (app) called MyCityWay can help New Yorkers and others in the area, especially those on the move, by providing real-time weather updates and alert notifications.

The app also includes a feed of more than 400 traffic cameras and information on where to buy essential supplies. The app is available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Nokia.
