Anderson Cooper quashed any rumors that he’s a potential candidate to replace Michael Strahan on “LIVE! With Kelly and Michael” during an April 28 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
“It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody’s offering anything so ...” he said when asked about the soon-to-be vacant position.
He added: “Listen, I love Kelly and I think that show is—Kelly is the heart and soul of that show and it’s going to go on and continue to be great and I wish Michael the best in his new endeavor.”
Cooper, a respected journalist, is currently covering the 2016 Elections with cable news channel, CNN—a company he seems content with.
“Look, I’m very happy at CNN,” he said.
Ironically Andy Cohen, host of the Bravo’s night time show, is also a rumored candidate to replace Strahan when he begins at “Good Morning America” in September. Other rumored potential candidates include Josh Groban, Mario Lopez, and Neil Patrick Harris.
The ABC show will have guest hosts after Strahan’s last show on May 13, an accumulation to a drama-filled April, that included a Ripa absence from the morning talk show to a grand return that was highly anticipated on April 26.
