Recording artist Adele has made good on her promise to reschedule a canceled Aug. 17 Phoenix tour date after falling ill.
Adele announced on Aug. 18 that the new date is set for Monday, Nov. 21, and will take place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena—the same arena where the previous show was to take place.
“Tickets for the original show (August 17, 2016) will be honoured on the new date,” read the statement.
A refund will be given to those who are unable to attend the new date.
In an apology video uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday, the “Hello” singer, in a hoarse voice, informed fans that she “pushed too hard” and would not be able to meet her obligations to perform two consecutive nights in the southwestern city.
“I can’t do my show tonight, my second show here. I’m really, really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple days, and I’ve been pushing through it and I did my show last night and I loved it, but I pushed too hard,” she said. “My cold has gotten the better of me, and as you can hear, even if I did my show, it wouldn’t be very good.”
She continued, “I’ve enjoyed my tour so much and canceling shows has not been something I want to do, and I’ve pushed through a lot of things, but I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up, and nothing’s really happening.”
This is the second instance in recent days where Adele and her tour have made headlines. During a concert stop in Los Angeles, Adele revealed that she was offered an invitation to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in Houston in 2017—which she declined.
“Come, on. That show is not about music, and I don’t dance or anything like that. They were really kind, they did ask me, but I did say no,” she told the crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Aug. 13.
