At Blissfields Festival ‘Activist Kids’ spent Saturday learning how to protest in a democratic society. The little ones all felt passionately enough to protest about Brussels sprouts. Coming up with their own cause, slogan and hand-made posters under the supervision of Sam Angel Gardens. Some of the children took the side “We Love Sprouts”. But it appeared the winning cause was “We Hate Sprouts”, as their civilised festival march took place. Musician Leigh-Mary Stokes, watching the protest said “I’m a clear Brussels sprouts hater, but it’s good to see the kids taking both sides.” The protest ended peacefully with the kids running into a flurry of giant bubbles.
Blissfields is a family run music and arts festival near Winchester, England. The weekend headliners on the ‘Singularity’ stage were DJ’s Simian Mobile Disco and the band The Horrors.
