Iceland is European country widely known also as “The Land of Fire and Ice”. It lies between the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean. The land consists mainly from lava fields, mountains, glaciers and wild rivers which flow to the sea through the lowlands. On an area of 40,000 sq mi live only 325,671 and that makes Iceland the most sparsely populated country in Europe.

Iceland is also land of light and darkness. In the summer the sun shines almost 24-hour but on the other hand in the winter months there are only a few hours of daylight to comfort the Icelanders.

The country is safe to visit with very low crime rate but visitors need to take precaution do to the natural hazards as the wild nature and weather conditions could change in any moment and can become dangerous.
