Audi will be defending its 2013 World Endurance Championship title and its 2013 Le Mans win with a trio of R18 e-tron quattros for at Spa and Le Mans, and a pair of e-trons through the rest of the season.
Le Mans winners Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer, and Benoît Tréluyer will again team up in one e-tron, while Le Mans veterans Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish, and Loïc Duval will pilot another. These two teams will contest the entire 2013 WEC season.
At Spa, the round before Le Mans, and at the 24-hour classic, Audi will add a third e-tron Quattro, for the driving team of Lucas di Grassi, Marc Gené, and Oliver Jarvis.
“With these three combinations we’ve put together an international team that we expect a lot of,” saoid Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich in an Audi press release.
“Our younger drivers will have the chance to establish themselves alongside the experienced Audi drivers who have really been pleasing us with their top results in all these years.
“With that, we’re in a very good position in terms of drivers for the Le Mans 24 Hours as well as for the other WEC races.”
The 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship season starts with the Six Hours of Silverstone on April 14. Tickets are available now through the Silverstone website.
