3 Awesome Car Technologies That Stood Out at CES 2015 (Video)

Spend enough time at CES, and you'll stumble across a few diamonds in the rough. But not even a week is enough time to see everything from the tech theme park. Now that we’re a few weeks removed from the show, we’ve had some time to reflect on what we saw (and didn’t get a chance to see).

One thing that stands out front and center: Car technology is improving at a very fast clip, and I’m not even talking the cars capable of driving themselves.

In the Audi camp, the automaker is working on a new virtual cockpit platform set to hit the Q7 in 2016.

That means the technology isn’t just some crazy concept that may or may not hit the market at some point in the future; Audi is backing the platform to be an integral part of the cabin experience, and it promises to make driving much more enjoyable.

That means more in-car entertainment options, voice controls and more.

Another thing worth mentioning is BMW’s i Mobility Services, which the automaker promises will “promote urban mobility both with and without automobiles.” Among the many features the platform supports, BMW’s i Mobility Services offers ParkNow, DriveNow, ChargeNow and more.

With something like ParkNow, the feature provides users with a clear overview of what the parking situation is like in a crowded city. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of BMW’s concept platform; it wants to make your life easier, which I think we can all appreciate when it comes to driving.

And finally, Ford SYNC 3, which is the automaker’s brand new communications and entertainment system.

It features faster performance, improved voice recognition and a much more intuitive smartphone-like touchscreen, making your experience less frustrating. In-dash infotainment solutions aren’t always the most user friendly experiences, but SYNC 3 is something that might finally buck that trend.
