The New York International Auto Show kicked off on April 3 with a flurry of new concepts and redesigns.

Noticeable trends for this year’s auto show are a bit subtler than in years past. In the super sports car category, McLaren and Porsche bring sports and horsepower to the show with the 570S and the Boxster Spyder, respectively.

The full redesign of the 2016 Nissan Maxima gained much fanfare from Maxima lovers. And Lincoln debuted a beautifully redesigned 2016 Continental, revitalizing the classy Continental from previous decades.

German automakers, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes, showed up in style. Audi winning the car of the year with the Audi A3, and some enhancements to its flagship SUV, the Q7. BMW beefed up its M3, and Mercedes reminded us all that the leader in luxury performance still holds that crown with a redesigned midsize SUV, the ML, now known as the GLE.

There’s a lot more to see though at the Javitz Center this year. The show runs through to April 12. Here’s a peek at what might meet your eye on your auto field trip.
