The new 2015 Audi A3 Sedan does something remarkable. The car is equipped with technology that can’t be found in most of Audi’s higher priced models, yet the A3 is based at the lower end of the German Car Manufacturers price range. A near bottom line car with top line technology so to speak.
The 2015 Audi A3 replaces the Audi A4. We test-drove the 2.0 T-Engine. Especially for the US-market the A3 Sedan is a really new thing, taking the place of the original A4 Sedan, which had about the same dimensions.
Here are the 4 things that make the 2015 Audi A3 Sedan a car with high-tech for a low price:
- Integrated 4G
- Pop-up screen with touchpad
- Optional Bang&Olufsen Audio
- Audi Drive Select
A 4G SIM card is integrated in the car and comes with a network plan that includes a 6 months free period. After that Audi charges $100 for 5GB spread over 6 months of 30GB for $500 spread over 30 months. This scheme seems rather odd, but without excessive use as a hotspot the car’s main interactive online features should be covered. These include Weather, Fuel Prices, Facebook and Twitter Updates as well as Flight Connections.
The Audi Drive Select lets you choose between Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual mode. Those modes vary the transmission of power to the engine and the steering, but don’t affect the suspension.
The car’s specifications are impressive for a rather small engine of 2 litres - turbocharged, that is. The Audi A3 Sedan 2.0l sprints from 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds. 220 horsepower push the Sedan forward with 258 foot-pound of torque.
The price for the new Audi A3 Sedan starts at $29,900.
