A domestic violence call ended in the shooting of two officers in Trenton, N.J., neither was critically wounded.

One officer was shot in the shoulder, the other in the back, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office told NBC news. The incident happened just before 9 a.m. on Hobart Avenue.

The suspected shooter is dead, shot by police, reports ABC.

Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph Bocchini told ABC the domestic call came in at about 2:30 a.m. Police went to the home, took the victim to the police station, and then drove her back to her home.

As they pulled up to the house, her boyfriend, who had allegedly perpetrated the domestic abuse, was leaving the house. He shot the police.

Angelo Onofri, first assistant prosecutor for Mercer County told NBC: “The last word was, while they [the shot officers] were on the way to the hospital, they were conscious and talked.” They were in “good spirits,” the prosecutor’s office reported.
