Nothing says spring like light, airy, and delicious pastels.
When used in overabundance, or in the wrong context, pastels can be too soft, but in a room that receives plenty of natural light, or one that could benefit from light and delicate tones, pastels can be excellent springtime colors.
If you’ve always loved pastels, here’s how you can indulge in these colors, and create a room with a happy, springtime vibe.
Pale Yellows
Soft, buttery yellows are great accent colors that will help to bring out the feeling of spring. Pair up yellows with dark wood accents or plenty of white to help balance out this delicate, pale color.
Soft Greens
Soft, spring greens like minty greens or sage green are excellent springtime colors that are ideal for conveying a feeling of freshness. Offset green with white or light neutrals for a fresh and clean look.
Light Blues
Soft, light blues look especially beautiful when combined with light neutrals. Or, opt to offset light blue with splashes of bright pink for a bright, and unmistakably spring look.
Soft Purple
Lilacs and other soft purples are great springtime pastels. To balance out the softness of this color, you could add darker tones of the same color for a rich and layered look.
Pretty Pinks
Light, soft pinks like elegant blush or peach can be combined with neutral shades, to create an elegant and grownup space.
Pastels can easily be overwhelmed when paired up with harsh, bright colors, but they work beautifully with white, or neutrals. To offset the delicateness of pastels, you may also want to consider offsetting them out with dark wood tones to add a richness and sense of warmth to the room.
