Antonio Sabato Jr. has been accused of cheating on his wife with Dancing With the Stars partner Cheryl Burke, though it appears that the accusations are just to get under Antonio’s skin.
Val Chmerkovskiy, who has himself been surrounded by dating rumors this season, apparently made the accusations to try to derail Antonio’s performance this season. Val is apparently taking pointers from brother Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who won last season with Meryl Davis.
“Part of Maks’s strategy was to get under the skin of other dancers and throw them off their games. If Val has learned anything from him, it’s that being feisty and even confrontational can really get you ahead,” a source told Globe magazine.
“Early on in rehearsals Val told Cheryl Burke to watch out for Antonio because he has a reputation. And, that got Antonio steaming.”
“Antonio stood chest to chest with Val and told him in no uncertain terms that he’s happily married and to mind his own business,” the source added.
There have been a few signs that Cheryl listed at least a little bit to Val if the report is true, with her telling Antonio that she was “uncomfortable” in week 2 rehearsals. The pair were also caught on camera fighting, though by the actual performance night they appeared to have made up.
Sabato, 42, a former actor on General Hospital and a model for Calvin Klein, is married to Cheryl Moana Marie Nunes. The pair married in 2012.
Nunes, 43, is a television presenter, actress, and musician, and former Oakland Raiders cheerleader. She and Antonio have one child, two-year-old Antonio III.
