Andrew Cohen Wins NYC City Council District 11 Democratic Primary

Andrew Cohen, an attorney and a professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, won the Democratic primary for City Council district 11.

Cohen won 67.75 percent of the vote with 97 percent of the precincts reporting as of 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.

He beat out Clifford Stanton, president for United Snacks Inc and former chief of staff for Council member Noach Dear, who got 32.25 percent of the vote.

The district of the northwest Bronx includes Kingsbridge and Riverdale. 

Cohen considers the most important issues he will work on to be improving the lives of senior citizens and reforming City Council practices, according to DecideNYC

Cohen faces Green Party candidate John Reynolds in the general election.
