The auditions for American Idol season 14 will feature Adam Lambert on the judging panel.

Lambert will be replacing Keith Urban, who is mourning with his wife Nicole Kidman after her father died.

Lambert took second place on the show in season 8 before being a guest mentor in season 13.

The callback auditions in New York will take place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island on September 23 and September 24.

Those auditions follow ones that took place at the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, and precede ones that are scheduled for the Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis (September 22, September 23) and the CowPalace in San Francisco (main auditions on September 29; callback on October 14, October 15).

Jennifer Lopez and Henry Connick Jr. are the two other judges.

American Idol season 14 is scheduled to premiere sometime in January 2015.

It’s unclear if Lambert will replace Urban at any of the other locations or even on a full-time basis moving forward, but it’s unlikely as the mourning period will probably be temporary.

Meanwhile, the Radio TV blog has predicted some of the songs that will likely be sung during the auditions.

The blog said that Beyonce, Rihanna, and Ed Sheeran are popular, while predicting people will sing “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift, “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor, “All Of Me” by John Legend, and “Story of My Life” by One Direction.
