An 8-year-old boy has died in the hospital after he and his father illegally crossed the border into the United States, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials said in a statement.
The boy from Guatemala died on Dec. 25 at Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
