Maurice Adams Jr. is only 8, but he is a true gentleman.

Maurice was riding through his home town of Midgeville, Georgia with his mother, Contricia Hill, when he spotted an elderly woman struggling to climb some steps.

The pair spotted an elderly lady inching across the road using a walker.

When the lady reached the far side, she had to climb a flight of concrete stairs.

Maurice saw that the lady was struggling—and his true quality revealed itself.

“He asked, ‘Can I go out there and help her up the steps?’” his mother told WSBTV.

Contricia Hill stopped her SUV. Maurice jumped out and approached the lady, offering her his assistance.

Maurice showed remarkable patience for one so young. He took the lady’s arm and helped her up each step, one at a time.

When they reached the top, the lady gave Maurice a hug and told he he was special.

Riley Duncan, who was stopped in traffic behind the Hill’s car, recorded the scene.

Contricia Hill said she didn’t know anyone was recording her son’s act of kindness, but she was glad. It warmed her heart a second time when she saw the video show up online.

Hill commented, “Respect and raising your kids right goes a long way.”

Indeed it does.

The future looks just a little more hopeful, knowing there are mothers raising their children to care—and knowing there are children like Maurice.

Well done to both mother and son.
