A man alleged to have indecently assaulted an elderly resident of an aged care facility has been charged.

Police say the 27-year-old, who was a staff member at the home in Perth’s western suburbs, assaulted a vulnerable person in their 80s on March 22.

“It is believed the charged man is employed by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and works at other aged care facilities in the metropolitan area,” a spokesman said on March 26.

The police investigation remains open and any person with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The man was charged on March 26 with three counts of indecently dealt with incapable person and was remanded in custody.

He is scheduled to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on April 2.
