Former President Donald Trump responded to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address in real-time, taking to his social media platform, Truth Social, to give his response.

Trump announced that he would be offering commentary to the Feb. 7 speech hours before Biden took the stage, saying he would be doing a live and “full ‘play-by-play’” analysis.

The former president called out what he believed to be inaccuracies in Biden’s speech and said that the Trump administration was responsible for a number of the achievements that Biden took credit for.

“I’m the one that did the great job on insulin pricing, the Dems just got the benefit of that success. It was passed on to them, and now they brag about it,” Trump said.
The former president also asserted that Biden came too close to taking credit for life-saving kidney transplants and the 10-year program for AIDS mentioned in the speech: “Joe’s taking credit for many of the things that the Trump administration started and did. They just happened to kick in during this period—but who can blame him!”

Trump also claimed that the figures offered by Biden on unemployment and inflation were misleading, saying that a 3.4 percent unemployment rate was “virtually meaningless” due to the fact that far fewer people are currently working.

Additionally, he pointed out that inflation was at 1.2 percent under his administration and at a high of 9.1 percent during Biden’s.

“He’s lying so much about Social Security, Medicare, and so many other things!” Trump claimed during his ongoing commentary.

The former president voiced his disagreements with how Biden is leading the country and the decisions the president cited on issues like infrastructure, the supply chain, and dealing with the climate.

He also claimed that under his leadership, international relations in Russia and Ukraine would be stronger and China would have more respect for the United States.

“China never respected America more than the four years that I was president, and it wasn’t even close. They paid our country hundreds of billions of dollars. No president has ever gotten ten cents from them. President Xi is laughing at our current leadership, he wasn’t laughing before.”

Trump did overtly agree with Biden on one issue saying, “I agree with him that the Tax System is not fair, to me, because they illegally released my tax returns!”

The former president wrapped up the commentary by linking to his own speech, where he offered what he called the “real” state of the union.

“I disagree with him on most of his policies, but he put into words what he felt, and he ended up the evening far stronger than he began. Give him credit for that.

“Many things weren’t mentioned that should have been, but that’s for another time. I’ve done a little clip, perhaps you'd like to watch it. Good night everybody, and God Bless America!”
