“When the curtain rose, the Creator suddenly appeared, and I was very excited. This closeness between the divine and the real world brought me immense inspiration and made me feel even closer to the divine,” shared Ikjung Park, former City Councilor of Gimcheon.
“The traditional Chinese dance presented by Shen Yun is truly exquisite. Every movement leaves me in awe,” praised Mr. Park.
Shen Yun’s dances are not limited to classical Chinese dance. The dancers are also trained in ethnic and folk styles, and dance is often used to tell stories.
As someone who also runs a park that protects trees that are centuries old, Mr. Park feels a deep connection to nature.
“Seeing the power of nature contained in traditional Chinese dance clears our mind. When we feel the vastness bestowed by nature, we all ultimately yearn to return to nature. Therefore, I feel more enriched, excited, and deeply moved,” recounted Mr. Park.
“Modern society will become cleaner and more prosperous. People will become less selfish, and it will bring a certain kind of inspiration to people’s spiritual world,” he said.
Chinese history has always held a firm belief in the divine. Shen Yun also draws on that spirituality for inspiration.
“The long river of history based on Buddhism and traditional culture provides us with a lot of insights and teachings,” added Mr. Park.
“The performance was absolutely wonderful, and I am very grateful for the experience that Shen Yun brought,” said Jong-pae Kim, chairman of a social club after seeing Shen Yun on May 4, 2024.
“China is now a country with communism as its ideological foundation, and communism uses people as expendable resources. I think it’s outrageous that they persecute people who have beliefs or religions,” remarked Mr. Kim.
Shen Yun’s dances share important human values such as faithfulness, honesty, and loyalty. Mr. Kim also loved seeing the scenes where the good triumphed over evil.
“Goodness will ultimately triumph over evil. If our society wants to develop in a positive direction, then we should vigorously promote goodness and punish evil,” expressed Mr. Kim.
“My soul is very hungry, I want [Shen Yun] to fill my soul,” said Jae-han Park, vice chairman of the Central Religious Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea after seeing Shen Yun on May 5.
Mr. Park saw Shen Yun on April 24 in Goyang and had to return once more in Gumi.
Regarding the CCP’s interference in Shen Yun coming to Korea, Mr. Park also expressed his displeasure.
“South Korea is a sovereign nation. A third country [the CCP] obstructed performances here. I think this is clearly interference in internal affairs, which is absolutely unacceptable. I hope such things will definitely not happen next year,” said Mr. Park.
“The [CCP] is launching a lot of attacks on Shen Yun and Falun Gong. We must overcome these difficulties, and we must remember that there are many people cheering and encouraging you, more than you can imagine. I will always support you,” said Mr. Park.
