CLEVELAND—When the Chinese Communist Party took power in China, Chinese culture was physically destroyed and spiritually warped. Thankfully, Shen Yun Performing Arts is reviving this lost culture and sharing it with the world.
“Fantastic. We’re faith-based people so that really means a lot to us to see something like that,” said David Bajc, a corporate strategic planner.
“He would tell us about how they used to have to go to church in secret,” said Mrs. Bajc.
“[Shen Yun is] not allowed, which is kind of disturbing that the Chinese people are missing this great type of show. It’s sad,” said Mr. Bajc.
“It kind of takes me back and [lets me] appreciate what we have here in the United States, the freedoms that we have, that we can see things like that,” he added.
Shen Yun’s backdrop technology is patented. The way the artists interact with the backdrop allows the characters being depicted to fly high into the sky or dive deep into the sea.
“I loved the performance. I liked the backgrounds, the color ... all the interaction between the performers and the screens, and then how the colors all come together. It was very enlightening and very divine,” added Mr. Bajc.
