Cheerleader ‘Too Chunky’? A sports blogger has been criticized for describing cheerleader Kelsey Williams as “too chunky” to wear the necessary clothing.
CBS Houston’s Claire Crawford made the comment of Williams, who cheers for the Oklahoma City Thunder, after Game 1 with the Houston Rockets.
“The Rockets looked terrible in Game 1, but some say they weren’t the only bad-looking people on the court,” the blogger wrote, according to ABC News.
The station included a poll on what their opinions were on Williams.
Commenters referred to the blog and poll as “disgusting” and “offensive.”
“It’s articles like this that lead young women and girls to anorexia and bulimia,” one reader wrote, according to the New York Daily News.
Others called for the firing of Crawford.
In response to the blog, Williams tweeted: “We wouldn’t know what blessings were if we didn’t go through trials. Thank you to EVERYONE for the compassion and love today. I’m in awe.”
