Rabid Fox Reported in South Portland, Attacked Four People

A rabid fox attacked four people in south Portland, police are reporting. One of them,  a contract worker for Home Depot, was attacked by the fox jumping through the open window of his truck and biting him on the arm.

Another man, jogging around Clarks Pond, kicked a fox that tried to attack him away.

Two homeless persons near Long Creek were also attacked by a fox, and bitten, police told WMTW.

Police are warning people in the area to be on the lookout, and to contact them about any sightings or attacks at 207-799-5511.
