Gary Kubiak, the Houston Texans coach, collapsed during halftime against the Indianapolis Colts during “Sunday Night Football.” It is unclear if he had a heart attack or what the medical issue is.
Kubiak was shown by NBC during the halftime show being helped off the field.
NBC’s Michele Tafoya reported that he was in lots of pain and his eyes were “squeezed shut.”
“Never once did he open his eyes,” she said, adding later that he was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
Citing team officials, Tafoya reported that he did not lose consciousness, and his family is with him at the hospital.
He was later sitting up on a stretcher speaking with medical staff.
He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, reported NBC.
It is unclear what the medical issue was.
Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips took over as head coach for the Texans.
