4 children killed mobile home: Officials said that four children were killed during a fire that burned South Carolina mobile home.

Officials say that the bodies of four small children were found in a burned out mobile home in Hartsville, South Carolina.

The home burned down at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting firefighters to respond immediately, reported SCNow.com.

When the fire rescuers arrived, they found that the home was 75 percent burned. Hartsville Public Information Officer Russell Cox said that within, the bodies of “four young children” were found.

“The identity of the children has not been released pending the outcome of the investigation,” Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee told the website.

A neighbor said she heard a loud explosion and saw the fire sweep through the mobile home. She tried to get the children out but flames jutted out of the window, preventing her from entering.

“There wasn’t anything I could do,” she said. “It started burning too fast.”

Photos that were uploaded to the CarolinaLive website showed smoke pouring out the home, with children’s toys strewn about the lawn.

Cox said a local coroner has not yet released the names or ages of the victims.

Investigators have just begun to look through the home’s charred interior and had no immediate report on a possible cause.

Police have moved the victims’ family to another location.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
