CSULA bomb threat:  Police on Thursday said they found no bomb on the California State University, Los Angeles campus after a 911 caller made threats that there were bombs on the campus.

The Cal State LA Twitter account that the campus was closed at around noon, local time.

Authorities said that after a search, there was no bomb found on the campus, Cal State L.A. spokesman Paul Browning told Southern California Public Radio.

Campus authorities said they would notify people when it is safe to return to campus.

A bomb squad was dispatched, but nothing was found and the search was called off at about 2:30 p.m., LAPD spokesman Richard French said.

“The caller in each said there were bombs at both Cal State LA and ‘Cal State Berkeley,’” said Sgt. Roger Cobian, a spokesman for the El Monte Police department.

The department informed officials at California State University, Los Angeles, and the University of California, Berkeley, of the threats, and the investigation was turned over to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Cal State LA student Tori Brown told the radio station: “We were all outside thinking it was a fire drill or something of the sort and our class president told everybody to leave, get off campus.”

“Everybody was trying to rush and get out. A lot of the people from the dorms didn’t know where to go, cause they live here, so it’s like where do you go? There was so much traffic I just walked home. I left my car here. And I saw the news and found out there was a bomb threat,” she added.
