Two men were convicted for conspiring to kill and rob British singer Joss Stone on Wednesday.

Junior Bradshaw, 32, and Kevin Liverpool, 35, were said to have harbored a deep loathing for the soul singer, according to the prosecution.

Liverpool was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 10 years and eight months. The sentencing of Bradshaw was not completed yet, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Both men denied the charges against them during the three-week murder trial. One of their attorneys said they were “deluded incompetents living out a frightening fantasy,” according to the BBC.

But the prosecution pointed to the men’s arsenal of weapons in their Fiat Punto, including a samurai sword, a knife, and several hammers. They also had a handful of written notes describing a plot to murder and rob Stone, and dump her body into a river before stealing from her house.

The notes said, among other things, “Jocelyn R.I.P.,” referring to Stone.

“Jocelyn - devil. She devil in flesh. The Queen. She devil/her system take the p.... Destroy The Queen’s system,” read part of a notebook found in the flat Bradshaw and Liverpool shared, according to the Telegraph.

Judge Francis Gilbert QC, The Recorder of Exeter, told Liverpool that “you intended to rob her and kill her and dump her body in the river, according to your words, and then leave the country with your accomplice Junior Bradshaw,” according to The Mirror tabloid.

He added that the conspiracy was a “crazy scheme by a crazy person which was likely to fail... It was your intention to kill Joss Stone and to rob her. I regard you a very dangerous man.”
