Veteran actor Jon Voight on Friday publicly voiced his disappointment in his daughter, actress Angelina Jolie, and others like her who are demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war.
“I’m very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God’s honor, God’s truths. This is about destroying the history of God’s land, the Holy land, the land of the Jews,” said Mr. Voight in a post on the social media platform X. He titled the post “Truth and Lies.”

Not ‘What the Left Thinks’

“This is justice for God’s children of the Holy Land—Israel, the Israeli Amy must protect thy soil, thy people, this is war,” he continued. “It’s not gonna be what the Left thinks. It can’t be civil now. Israel was attacked by inhuman terror on innocent babies, mothers, fathers, grandparents. And you fools calling Israel the problem. You should look at yourselves and ask, ‘Who am I? What am I?’ and ask God, ‘Am I learning the truths, or am I being lied to and following everyone else? ... These animals want to wipe out Jews, Christians.”
On Oct. 28 Ms. Jolie posted to her Instagram page, “What happened in Israel is an act of terror. But that cannot justify the innocent lives lost in bombing a civilian population in Gaza that has nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, and not even the basic human rights to cross a border to seek refuge.”
The “Maleficent” actress prefaced her remarks by expressing that like millions around the world, she was sick and angry at the terrorist attacks in Israel and is praying for the immediate and safe return of every hostage and for the families who carry the unimaginable pain of a murder of a loved one.

Jolie Calls for Ceasefire, Says World Leaders Are Complicit

Days later, Ms. Jolie called for a ceasefire, noting that Gaza has been an open-air prison for nearly two decades and is fast becoming a mass grave.

“While the world watches and with the active support of many governments, millions of Palestinian civilians - children, women, families - are being collectively punished and dehumanized, all while being deprived food, medicine and humanitarian aid against international law,” she said. “By refusing to demand a humanitarian ceasefire and blocking the UN Security Council from imposing one on both parties, world leaders are complicit in these crimes.”

On Oct. 7, the Islamic terrorist group Hamas launched a brutal attack on Israel, killing 1,400 and kidnapping more than 240 during a major Jewish holiday. What followed were horrific reports of babies decapitated and children and adults burned to death.

Calls For Ceasefire, Condemning Hamas Attacks

Several Hollywood A-list celebrities, including Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, and comedian John Stewart, along with 52 others, signed a letter urging President Joe Biden to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. Members of the leftist “Squad” in Congress have also repeatedly called for a ceasefire following the Hamas attacks.
Meanwhile, other entertainers, including actress Gal Gadot and comedian Jerry Seinfeld, signed onto an open letter condemning the Hamas attacks in the wake of the Oct. 7 massacre. Weeks later, Hollywood A-listers also urged President Biden to secure the release of hostages in Gaza.

Human Shields

In his post, Mr. Voight noted that Palestinians have been given “huge infusions of money” that Hamas leaders have used to make weapons with.

“Of course, we all want peace, we want love, don’t we? But we can’t be with these animals wanting Jews and Christians to be wiped from the earth. The lie that Israel is killing innocent people when all have free will to go, but they are prisoners of the barbaric country who use them as shields. These children of Palestinian soil are being used by these animals to make all think that Israel is taking lives, when indeed this was Hamas’s plan to create the war of evil vs. good,” said Voight.

“Allow the force of truths and justice to bring us all together and recognize that Hamas and this deceit of their ruling is destroying their own people, not Israel,” he added.
