An Oklahoma dog walked 20 miles—twice—to find her family, who had moved and were not able to keep her.

The stunning story began after the family, which has not been named, traveled from Prague to Seminole to find the family. That’s a journey of 20 miles.

After she was taken back to the home she had been moved to in Prague after the first trip, she made the journey a second time.

Seminole Animal Shelter manager Rebecca Acker told BuzzFeed News that she’s never heard a story like this before.

“I haven’t seen anything like this before,” she said. “She’s probably traveled the most out of all our dogs.”

Unfortunately, the family was unable to keep Cathleen, the dog, even after the epic journeys, because they didn’t like her tendency to wander off.

“Her heart wants to be with them but they cannot keep her,” the shelter noted.

Cathleen is now up for adoption at the shelter. Adoption applications can be found here. Cathleen is a Great Pyrenees mix who is six years old.
“She’s very sweet; very calm and docile,” reserve animal control officer Lynzi Thompson told KOCO. “Friendly. She wants to be everyone’s friend. She’s a love bug. Give her a chance. She may seem shy at first but will open up to you, definitely.”

“She is humble, kind and passive. Sweet and loves food. She is healthy, housebroken, doesn’t pull on a leash and loves to be around children,” the shelter added on Facebook.

“Cathleen has a calm temperament and wouldn’t hurt a fly. She does great with other dogs. We are looking for an inside home for Cathleen with a fenced yard. Someone who has patience and is seeking a passive doggie.”
