A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after allegedly being stabbed repeatedly by his older brother in Los Angeles County May 10.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s (LASD) Norwalk Station responded at around 10 p.m. Thursday to the 9700 block of Ben Hur Avenue regarding a family dispute, LASD Deputy Daniel Dominguez told City News Service.
The 7-year-old was taken to a hospital and was in critical but stable condition, and his brother also suffered injuries and was admitted to hospital before being arrested by deputies on suspicion of murder, according to media reports. It was unclear how the suspect was injured.
The sheriff’s department told media outlets a 24-year-old man was in a mental health emergency when the stabbing happened.
No additional information about a motive was released by authorities.
