Saying good-bye to an amazing vacation is hard, but having all the memories to look back on is one of the many benefits of travel.
After you unpack, and readjust to being home –it’s time to get set incorporating your vacation into your everyday life. Just because it’s over doesn’t mean you can’t relive those exciting moments, and smile when you think of the memories that were made.
Create a Display Area
One way to bring your vacation into your home is by creating a display area or feature wall. A cube shelving unit works great for holding various mementoes and pieces of décor that remind you of your travels. Display artwork, photos, or sculptures. You could also fill bottles with sand from various beaches that you stopped at. For smaller trinkets or keepsakes that are special, but too small to display, consider purchasing a few display boxes.
Incorporate Keepsakes Into Your Décor
If making a designated spot for your vacation memories and souvenirs doesn’t sound appealing to you, you might consider incorporating photos, and special keepsakes from your travels throughout your house. Choose a few things that make you smile when you see them, and work them into your décor, to bring happy memories to mind.
Decorate With a Vacation Color
If you'd like to bring your vacation home, but are hesitant to design an entire room around a vacation spot, consider using choosing a color scheme that reminds you of your favorite place. For instance, a tropical destination could inspire a blue, green, and white color pallet, while you could recreate the feel of a city getaway with charcoal, light gray, and splashes of bold, strong colors.
